Known as a haven for sun-splashed upscale leisure, Naples and environs including Marco Island -- marketed as the Paradise Coast -- double as a shopping nirvana. Downtown's Third Street South, rich in galleries, abounds in fashion boutiques and interior design shops. Palm-lined Fifth Avenue South, also downtown in Old Naples near the pier, supplies historic main street atmosphere with shops, restaurants, pubs, and bistros as part of a year-round schedule of art shows, sidewalk sales and themed happenings, plus park benches for relaxing with ice cream cones or cappuccino.

Seasonal and novelty jewelry, local memorabilia, antiques and pre-owned apparel shops line the Tamiami Trail (U.S. Highway 41) and Treasure Trail (10th Street North (U.S. Highway 41), between 5th Avenue North and 2nd Avenue South). Marco Island has several shopping venues for art, apparel and island treasures to take home, and Marco Walk has specialty boutiques, apparel shops, restaurants, and a movie theater that combines first-run films with a beer, wings and things menu.
